About Us
Harmonie Wind Ensemble is an amateur brass band independently operated and formed in May 1989.
We practice mainly in Nerima-ku at Saturday night every week. The main activities are regular concerts (around February every year) and visiting performances at elementary schools and hospitals.
Currently the number of members is about 40. From college students to adults, and professions and hometowns vary.
The skill of an instrument is also different for each person. There are various members from who have been playing for several decades to who graduated from school and started again after a blank period. Everyone is an amateur who has a main job separately. We also conduct musical performance and arrangements by ourselves.
It is not an alumni band of a school, nor does it have a financial support by a ward/district.
We proudly say that the cooperation of each member has been supporting HWE activities so far.
Our common points are "love brass band music!", "want to enjoy playing" and "want to continue playing instruments!!". That's what all we need. This is a fun band where people with such feelings gathered.
HWE is listed in a lifelong learning group report of Nerima.
